Frequently Asked Questions

At In Power PT & Performance, we believe in keeping things simple, transparent, and empowering. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions from both new and returning clients. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Just give us a call—we’re happy to help!

  • Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?

In Texas, you can be evaluated by a physical therapist without a referral. However, if you plan to use insurance, many providers require a referral to continue treatment. We’ll walk you through the process so you don’t have to stress.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

You can book your initial visit by calling us at (806) 322-2284 or submitting a request through our Contact Page. You’ll receive access to the patient portal where you can complete your intake forms before your appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, athletic-style clothing that allows you to move freely. Avoid jeans or restrictive items, especially if we’ll be assessing your movement or mobility.

  • Do you accept my insurance?

We’re in-network with many major insurance companies and accept out-of-network benefits as well. You can also use HSA/FSA cards or pay out-of-pocket. Call us for specific insurance details—we’ll verify coverage for you!

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes! We accept both HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments.

    Do you offer cash-pay options?

Yes! We have competitive self-pay rates for evaluations and follow-up sessions. Many of our clients choose this option to avoid insurance limitations.

  • How long are sessions?

All sessions are 60 minutes and are completely one-on-one with your therapist.

How often will I need to come?

This depends on your condition and goals. Most patients start with 1–2 sessions per week and adjust based on progress.

    Do you only treat injuries?

Not at all. We also help with injury prevention, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor health, athletic performance, and chronic condition management. If it affects how your body moves or feels—we’re here for it.

Can I request a specific therapist?

Absolutely! Let us know your preference when scheduling, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • What if I’ve had PT somewhere else before?

That’s completely okay! We’ll pick up wherever you left off or re-evaluate to make sure you’re on the right path.

    What’s your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancels may be subject to a fee.

Can I bring my child or a family member?

Yes, you're welcome to bring someone along

    Do you offer virtual sessions?
No, at the moment we are only offering in person sessions.

  • Do you offer prenatal or postpartum therapy?

Yes! We specialize in pelvic floor rehab for every stage—pre-baby, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Please see our Pelvic Floor Therapy page for more information.

Is pelvic floor therapy painful or invasive?

Not necessarily. Your comfort and consent are our top priorities. We’ll explain everything in detail and tailor your care to what feels right for you.

What other women's health services do you provide?
